Cool stuff! Works like a charm so far! Wondering why the original distribution doesn´t come with an installer...

Thanks.

@marco, ok, this make more easy installation, but run 2 commands in commandline, is not so hard.

Maybe not for you and me, but we aren't the standard. I get at least one or two emails per week from users having problems with template installation. And even I had my fair share of issues with it.

A quick forum search with threads old and new shows just how prevalent this issue is:

No, this isn´t hard, really. And I´ve never had any problems installing them in the past but hey - if an installer saves me a couple of seconds, why not use it ;) Time is cash :)

Thanks for putting this up i just spent an insane amount of time trying to use the command line which frankly i cant use.
Also even for people who can and like to use the terminal it took less time to get cocos2d working using this than just to download the file the normal way.

I'm brand new to cocos2d programming - going through the "Learn iPhone and iPad Cocos2D Game Development" book and it directed me to the cocos2d website to install cocos2d. I follow the direction to sudo install-templates.sh and got tons of errors. I tried to re-install with -f -u but still lots of errors. I found this intsaller and it worked like a charm. Thank you very much! Saved me lots of time I'm sure!

Awesome, it is a pain in the arse, using terminal to find the path then type all that crap, so I love it. Steffen you rock dude!!!

I think it would be even better if it had space manager included with the chipmunk, but hey, that's just me. 8)

thanks a ton for this. the shell script method had thrown lots of errors pointing to some kind of folder creation error. me not being bash expert, couldnot solve the issue. This installer worked like magic. thanks again :)

Does this installer work on the new Xcode 4 GM that Apple just recently made public?

It now installs the Xcode 4 templates that cocos2d v1.0.0 rc provides.
